Default The big question......

Ps3 or xbox 360? which one should i get? Dont go on about how i should get a wii, i already have one and i wub it . But i want some more intense gaming, and rock band with DLC, as well as other games, dmc4, GTA4, turok and so forth.

Now some of the other things though

1 PRice, 360 is cheaper

2. Performance, i dont hear about ps3's getting sent back much, graphics dont matter much to me (hence the wii first ) and the ps3 has a blu ray player, which won.

3. Games library, ok, brag away, which one has better games?

4. DLC, do they both have symphony of the night? get the same songs on gh and rb?

5. online play.

6. OH yeah, i need bc as well.

Ok, please help me with these criteria, thanks.

And for those of you who have read this far, i was thise <-> close to getting a 360, my mom and i were standing at wal mart and were like "DO you want the elite or regular one?" i said i wanted the regular, component is fine for me, but i wanted the elite for the hard drive, and she said the hard drive was worth the extra money, and the hdmi, so i was like, alright! elite it is! and right before i asked the guy to open the glass, my dad showed up and gave me the whole "WHAT THE HELL ARE YA DOIN?!?!" look, and said i should invest in what i got already. so i decided ok, he was gonna get me some wii credits (good enough for me, i want pokemon snap and kirby and the crystal shards) well as luck had it though, they were out of wii credits, so i got Medal of honor heroes 2 instead (woot, i just bought an online adapter for my wii 2, so hells yeah!) so there we go.

Xbox 360. The new PS3 models do not have BC.

Otherwise I was going to suggest the Playstation 3, third party games are almost entirely multiplatform, and I am starting to enjoy the look of the exclusives on the Playstation 3 rather than the sequels on the Xbox 360 that are exclusive (Splinter Cell, Gears of War). I'd grab a PS3, I am going to grab a PS3 myself soon but already have the X360.

It just feels that the X360 is going to give people a case of sequel-itis for this and some of next year, which is fine and dandy, but new IPs are great to play too; which is why I'm recommending the Playstation 3.

If you can find one, get a 60 or 80gig PS3, if you don't play PS2 games then don't worry about it.

Another thing to think about, every game that is on 360 that is on PS3 is a port to the PS3, there game play is less than stellar, however, once more PS3 exclusive games come out it will become a true competitor.

Do not believe the lies of Atlas, Rapture is on the rise.

Well, how do you feel about Metal Gear Solid? That is a big one. How big is online play to you, and can you do 50 bucks a year?

PS3 exclusives:
Metal Gear 4 (the more I see of it, the more I'm impressed)
Gran Turismo 5
Haze
Final Fantasy (I'm shocked with that one coming out this is still a choice for you)
Little big planet
Tekken 6

360 exclusives:
Splinter cell conviction (I'm so getting that)
Fable 2
Ninja gaiden 2 (calling in sick to work for this)

These are just some off the top of my head. You can't go wrong with either one. I lean toward PS3. I had a few RROD's and that annoyed the sh*t out of me. And I'm much more exited about the PS3 exclusives. On the other hand, I would buy a 360 just for Ninja Gaiden 2.

If you cant get $50 a year, you are a sad individual.

But 360 all the way. Most of the good games are cross platform, and 360 has hands down the best selection for shooters.

Cod4, Orange Box, Halo, Vegas 1&2, Army of 2, Frontlines. it goes on.

The 80GB models do still feature BC, albeit in software emulation form. This does mean that some PS2 games will not work, but the majority do. It's the 40GB models that have the PS2 BC taken out and for Aussies, the only PS3 model currently available is teh 40GB model, thus we have no BC on our PS3s.

However, Alec lives in the US and should easily be able to get his hands on an 80GB model.

Now, in the choice between the 360 and the PS3, I'd go for the 360 as it has a larger games library, therefore increasing your chances of finding more games that you'd like to play. Having said that the PS3 has some great exclusive titles, an awesome GUI, buit in wireless which makes home networking so much easier and of course the Blu-ray.

the 20GB and 60GB have the PS2 hardware built into them so they will play 99.9% (if not 100%) of all PS2 games.

If you get a heap of games, transfer lots of media to it and download videos from the store often you will probably fill it up quite quickly. Luckily the PS3's HDD can easily be replaced with a 2.5" laptop hard drive. As long as you get something that is SATA and 5400RPM you'll be fine. It's quite easy to do, here are some guides:

Get a 360

it has alot more exclusives and in general, is the better console at the moment, the PS3 has also had to wait longer for games to be released due to how difficult it is to develop for it

However I would also say get a PS3 sometime after that, since eventually it will have some good exclusives that will make having buying a PS3 worth it

oh and 360/PS3>>>>>Wii (has a 360 and a Wii and plans on getting a PS3 when I have the money)

currently deciding what to put here

The problem with the 360 is the hidden costs.

PS3 comes with a built in High Definition player (Blu-ray), while with the 360 you have to... well had to buy the HD-DVD player component as an add-on.

The PS3 also comes with wireless built-in, while the 360 requires yet another add-on component to allow the same functionality.

One of the major things for me is the inclusion of a web browser on the PS3. If i quickly need to check something I can just hop over to the web browser and look up any site as you would on a PC. The 360 has no web browser.

This also brings up the point of keyboard and mouse support. The PS3 supports keyboard and mouse beautifully, especially the web browser, and even some games, Unreal Tournament 3 for example.

Also, I find the GUI on the PS3, know as XMB, to be far superior to the 360 Dashboard interface. Instead of having options buried behind screen after screen, the menus simply branch out from the previous menus.

Lastly, the PS3's styling is superb. It just looks so good, far better than what MS could come up with.

All in all, after only 4 days of owning a PS3 I love it, and almost prefer it to the 360.
