It was announced this week that the first “Casuality Europe” game conference will take place on February 8th and 9th next year in Amsterdam (The newly-coined word “casuality” is derived from casual, as in casual gamer.). The purpose of the conference is to bring together game developers from all over the world in order to understand the casual game market in Europe.
The conference's managing director, Jessica Tams, said, "With the rapid globalization of the casual games industry, a European based event is vital to ensure the casual gaming community is able to create and market content to a global consumer base. Casuality is organized and managed for the purpose of serving the educational and community needs of professional casual game developers, publishers and distributors. The primary purpose of the conference is not to achieve a profit for the event planners.”
