Yes, it is true. Bungie.com has announced that Peter Jackson will the the Executive Producer behind the Halo movie. Bungie has also stated they will be in for the ride as well, helping provide input for the film.

peter jackson likes blood and gore, should be great for that reason alone. But video game movies always suck. It's a guaranteed.
