Screw them. 3 out of the last 5 years they've had Super Bowls. I'm just thrilled they'll never repeat the 4 in 6 years like my Super Steelers did. Great game. I don't like Manning one bit because I'm tired of hearing about him. Go bears!
BTW, I picked Indianapolis to beat the Patriots (23 to 20). I was wrong but hey, I got the pick right. Anywho, I'm not rooting for the Colts but I'm picking them to win 31-22. See how my pick goes.

Watching the first part of that game, I just figured Brady and Pats were going to run away with it and the media would again be questioning Manning's folding under pressure. I guess he showed them.

The question is now, will he take home the ring or will he pull another Dan Marino? Laces out Dan.
For the Colts to beat the Bears, they're going to need to stop the run. Simple gameplan. 8 men in the box all game. Make Grossman beat you and under all that pressure, I don't expect Grossman to have a very good game. He didn't play well at all yesterday except for one of those drives and they only scored on a defensive misplay. As for the Colts offense, quick strikes are important. Run it up the gut with Dominic Rhodes. Also, don't try to strike downfield too often. Keep the passes short as the Bears corners will likely play soft man-to-man.
If the Bears want to win, Grossman needs to avoid turnovers at all cost. Use quick outs and button hook plays to his advantage. Don't hold the ball too long. 3-step drop and throw. Get in a rhythm. They have to establish some sort of running game because they don't want to become one-dimensional. On defense, play physical with the receivers. Don't give them space and try to knock them off their routes. Pressure on Manning is the key to stopping the passing game. As far as stopping the run game, with a key injury to Tommie Harris, it could be a long game for the Bears run defense. They need to find some way to stop the Colts rushing attack. Try their best to stop Dominic Rhodes and Addai behind the line so they give up on the run and become one-dimensional.

Surprised no one's mentioned it, this Super Bowl will make history. Never has an African American NFL coach made it to the Super Bowl, and now there's two in one year.
Every year some new thing happens that makes me wonder if the games are rigged for the best story. Like the Patriots winning in '01.
Don't read too deeply into that. Just a paranoid observation.
I pick the Bears over Colts, 21-17.

This is what I don't get. How was THAT the best story? So their name is the New England Patriots. Wouldn't it have made more sense to have the Jets or the Giants or the Redskins win? Seeing as those would have made the best stories. And what about the other two times the Patriots won over the next 4 years? And how about the great success they had this year? Rigged so they could win? Or just a good team? I doubt the african american coach thing was rigged, because in that case, only one would have actually made it in.

It's simple. '01 was that year we all remember, it was the year when you couldn't walk ten feet without tripping over an American Flag hung on one thing or another, the year our nation "banded together" and rose above adversity, proud to be American, etc. etc. and how fitting that a team called the Patriots would win the Super Bowl? It was a hot discussion back then, or were you not paying attention? Everyone and their mother was pointing out the convenience of the Patriots winning that year.
All their other accomplishments that you note hadn't happened yet.
And did you conveniently ignore the sentence where I said not to read too deeply into that?
Jesus make a minor observation and all the sudden someone else flies off the handle. Take a chill and stop abusing your keyboard so readily.

Yes, I'm well aware a ton of people think it was "Fixed" to let the "patriots" win. Let me ask you something, what good does a team named the "Patriots" do? It doesn't make the people living in the devestated area any happier. If anything, it makes them more upset. The Jets were in the playoffs that year and were a pretty good team. We know the Jets and Patriots are a big rivalry so that makes the people of New York unhappy that their rivals won. And of course, in November of 07, the Yankees were in the World Series, but did they win it? No, the Diamondbacks won it. Wouldn't it have been fitting to have the "Yankees" win the world series as well, even more so than the Patriots. I at one time thought maybe it was fixed, and then two years later, the Patriots win it again, and then again in the next year. Then I realized, it wasn't fixed, they're just a great team.
Everyone I know still believes it was fixed for the Patriots to win. They still bring it up (especially last Sunday) and then I go into my list of counter arguments about how it being fixed to have the Patriots win makes no sense.
