Mobile games are hot, and management changes are getting even hotter. Last week, Mforma Group, Inc., a top mobile game publisher, announced that founder Dan Kranzler will step down from his position as CEO. His job will be taken by Jonathan Sacks, the former head of AOL Interactive, who joined Mforma earlier this year.

Kranzler founded Mforma in Bellevue, Washington in 2001. Headquarters has moved to San Francisco, but Kranzler will remain in Bellevue with a small staff where he will be “stepping aside from day-to-day operations,” according to a company announcement. Kranzler will “lead in strategic initiatives,” the statement continued. Kranzler said, ““I am very pleased to hand Mforma’s reins over to Jonathan Sacks, who has my utmost faith and confidence and who I know will provide invaluable leadership at this very important stage in Mforma’s history.”

Mforma Group, Inc. is working with Marvel Comics on a deal to publish ringtones, graphics and other related cell phone products. Mforma is considered to be a major leader in mobile entertainment, mobile games and mobile services.
