View Full Version : Tomlinson breaks the record

Ladainian Tomlinson broke the record today for most TD's in a season with 29 only 13 games into the season. The man is a monster of the NFL and right about now I think he sealed the deal for MVP. A lot of people don't like to compare the newer TD record to the older because there are more games played in a season now (16 compared to 14) but the fact that he made 29 in only 13 games just completely obliterates that theory. Anywho, who thinks that LT is the greatest runningback ever? I'd wait a couple years before I make that claim because I still think Barry Sanders was the best.

He did a good job of running all over my team tonight, so good on him. I'm still sort of bitter about that game, so my opinion is best left to simmer for a while and cool off

Tomlinson is absolutely unreal. Though being a Bears fan, I remember what Barry Sanders looked like in his prime and I don't know if I would consider LT better than him. Sanders' cut backs were devastating and his vision was amazing. Still, quite the accomplishment for LT. How many TDs do you think he will end up with for the season? My guess is 33.

I'll go with 32. They will probably keep him out week 17 and I can see him getting 3 within the next two weeks.

North American Football.
aka the NFL, aka the San Diego Chargers, aka their running back
Now that I've had time to cool off over the game, I can accept the fact that the Chargers belong in the top AFC spot right now. LT has been dominating all season, and can only hope to get better.
It's pretty amazing watching these records get smashed left and right by these young players, it's a testament to the improvement in player's abilities.
I do still question the TD in the second quarter when LT tried to jump over the Broncos' D-Line into the endzone, it really didn't look like he broke the plane. But, I'm happy Shanahan didn't challenge it, it probably would not have been over-turned. It was too close to call...

As a Raiders fan who spent a good deal of time living in San Diego, I am both angry and happy that LDT broke the record. If nothing else, it's another blow to the Seahawk fans I detest so very much.
What I was impressed with the most this week, though, was Brees absolutely torching the Cowboys. What an incredibly well-coached game by Payton.

I love bringing friends from out of state to Oakland or LA. It's so easy to trick them into thinking it's the most dangerous place in the world.

You and me both buddy, you and me both. Damn whiny seahawks fans, we won that damn super bowl fair and square so shove your latte's up your bunghole. LT is definitely a classy guy and I like how when he broke the record, he asked his team to come over and celebrate with him because he realizes that it's not just one person, but a collective team that gets him in the endzone. And I also give credit to Marty for giving him the ball with only 3 minutes to go. Most coaches shy away from that but he had a chance to break the record, so good thing he let him.

Yeah, I give Marty a lot of credit for letting him break the record at home against one of their biggest rivals. Great game to be at if you're a fan, so kudos to him.
I also gotta give a lot of kudos to Payton. Not many coaches would kneel and give the ball up on downs with 3 minutes left at the 4 yard line.

I take offense to that, and so would most Broncos fans.
A rivalry has nothing to do with violence. I pity to think that you think it does. You self-admitted you don't talk sports, so why are you going to be all hate about something you don't know?
Raiders are dirty cheaters.
And that's the end of that.

QFT. Very classy.
And as far as LDT (I hear there's another guy named LT 0.0) goes, I think it was a matter of time before he set this record..and a whole lot of others, too. He is just flat-out incredible.

I love how QFT can have two VERY different meanings. I almost thought it was the negative one until I thought it over.

I think we can now get past the part where he can't be called LT. He's shown himself to be just as good of a ballplayer as the original LT. But then again, it wouldn't be right if someone else was given the name "The Bus". Still, Im stickin with LT, he's earned it damnit.

But he has another big letter in his name, so we must stick the D in his nickname!
