Debate Hall Rules

Now that we have our debate hall up and running, what constitutes material worthy to post in here?

We can't nail it down exactly, but let me tell you the general purpose of this forum:

The Debate Hall forum has been set up for the sole purpose of having serious debates about controversial topics.

Examples of what SHOULD be posted in the Debate Hall forum:

- The war in Iraq, should the U.S. pull out or not?
- Cloning: ethical or not?
- Creation vs. Evolution, which is right?
- North Korea, what should we do about them

Examples of what SHOULD NOT be posted in the Debate Hall forum:

- Dell XPS or Xbox 360, which one should I buy??
- Why is my tv fuzzy?
- What food do you like the most?
- Does the Wii suck?

The examples listed that you should post are all big, global issues, and we won't necessarily be restricting you to that. But we're trying to keep the topics posted from being too casual. This forum is for hardcore, serious debating ONLY.

We can and will remove your access to the debate forum if you come in here and post "omg liek y do yoo guyz even care?!1//?" Stupid, off topic, or posts that have no logic won't be tolerated in here. Keep that stuff in the Off Topic.

Keep the grammar [reasonably] correct, your sentences clear, and think before you post.

Do all these things, and you should be alright in here, unless someone pins you down in a debate B)

I'm a littel confused. In the "DON'T" section you listed two seperate console questions, so does that mean that we are not allowed to have debates about consoles and PCs?

I was thinking of having a debate about Wii, XBoX360 and PS3, but the rules kinda threw me!

I mentioned we can't nail the rules down exactly ;) Jambo.. you can have a debate about which one wins the console war like PS3, Xbox 360, or Wii. Same for like, PC, Mac or Linux.

But there was a thread opened about it before that was immediately moved. We want to hear LOGICAL ARGUMENTS in here. I moved the other thread to the OT section because the first post in the thread was "I think PS3" the 2nd was "naw Xbox360" and so on. Thats not a debate.

In general, if you're going to open a debate topic,
POST YOUR PERSONAL OPINION, AND REASONS FOR THAT OPINION, ON THE OPENING POST TO GET IT STARTED.
Kaze's abortion thread went dangerously close to being moved because it was just one liners. It only started after he posted his full opinion on the subject, which he should have done in the first place B)
