The reporters who wrote the book Game of Shadows are apparently going to be sent to jail because they won't release the sources of the BALCO grand jury testimony leak for 18 months. Does this seem fair? Hardly. How much time did the people who distrubed BALCO get? 3-4 months. How much time did BALCO users such as Barry Bonds and Jason Jiambi get? No time. The reporters do their job of investigating BALCO use (which is a job the government should be doing) and they get thrown in jail? That's a bunch of balogney. There wouldn't be any heat on the reporters if someone like Barry Bonds would just admit to having used the stuff knowingly. Instead, the asshat bonds would rather let his friend rot in jail instead of bailing out his buddy and giving himself a better name for finally coming clean.

Hear hear. I've lost a great deal of interest in baseball because of all of this, but at this point all I care about is actual baseball.

The worst part is, I know Barry in real life. I've talked with him, interviewed him, been to his house for birthday parties, etc. So every time I hear about this, it just makes me sick. Frankly, I wish both sides would just admit to everything they've done wrong, and get it over with.

Wouldn't want to do that now, someone's pride might take a hit. If they confess to all the crap, it'll at least bring back some intengrity to the game. How much do you want to bet that as soon as Barry retires, he finally comes clean?

If he doesn't admit to anything before he retires, I don't see him doing it after. He's far too stubborn for that.
