Well the PlayStation Portable (PSP) is apparently taking the world by storm, or according to Sony it is. In Australia we have only just started to receive our stocks of PSP's, however it seems (according to figures by Media Centre) that we're not helping their sales much.

So who currently holds the handheld crown (week ending 28th Aug)?

Nintendo DS. That's right, the DS still holds over on the PSP and GameBoy Advance, and by the look of it, the xBox is having a torrid time in the sales market. Check out Media Centre's stats below:

Nintendo DS: 57,313 (Annual: 1,520,298)

PlayStation 2: 27,161 (Annual: 1,349,842)

PlayStation Portable: 20,322 (Annual: 1,195,576)

Game Boy Advance SP: 11,144 (Annual: 494,480)

GameCube: 2,586 (Annual: 150,931)

Game Boy Advance: 652 (Annual: 17,871)

Xbox: 130 (Annual: 9,977)

LOL, My guess for the Xbox is because it's built like a tank. :P [that and the impending Xbox 360 in, what, a few months?]

I've noticed a lot of people's PS2's around here had tended to break (I've never had problems though *shrugs*)

Maybe it's just because I live in Michigan? :P

PS2's break easily. None of my xbox's or friends xbox's have broken. Also. You dont see many ps2's at lan centers.

Why would you bother with a ps2 lan center? It's free and has some great games online. On a bad day there is 20k people on Socom 2.On a GOOD day theres about 45k people on.With the anticipation of Socom 3 everyone is throwing Socom 2 away because the servers got really laggy.

Lan centers are huge. Tournaments are huge. Big time gamers look at the xbox more than they would the ps2 at the moment. The ps2 has some NICE sports games going for it though....
