Alright, sorry to piss off any high hype XBox Fanboys, but...you have got to admit..."XBOX 360" is a stupid name. I remember reading something about its new name being "Xenon", i'm not entirely sure about the validity of that statement, but i think that that would be a really badass name. Instead of...xbox...360..
But then again, that's just my oppinion.

But in all seriousness, ehh.. the name isn't the greatest, but then again Playstation3 is mediocre at best. IMO Revolution wins with the name.

It's entitled 360 because not only does it cover gaming, it has the DVD player, and supposedly a Music deal hoping to happen, like buying music from iTunes, so it covers more than one thing and they view this whole deal as a "360"

I dislike the name, but who cares.

Also, Xbox 2 going up against Playstation 3 sounds bad. They needed something else.

Xenon was just a codename. 360 is the final name for it. We'll just have to get used to it.

It was a business move. The other names didnt have numbers on them. Numbers make one system sound better than the other. Also...The xbox has a name made up by now. The other names that took out "XboX" Would not.....so they in a sense would have to start from scratch and build up a new name for themselves.

omg everyone knows what xbox is, so having the name xbox 2 wouldn't have affected a consumer's choice hardly at all, unless they had just been born. eevrybody would know it was the "next-gen, latest greatest console" by word of mouth and previous knowledge. but you get all these people who already know about xbox and are active in the creation of the xbox2/360 look at the PS3 and decide you have to beat them in numbers in your title to gain an edge in the market... so retarded.
