What's your vote for worst game of all time? Spideman/Xmen for the sega was pretty bad...if anyone can recall that game. A lot of the old Sega games were pretty horrific. ;(

Let's see, the worst games I own are Devastation, Enter the Matrix or Chaser, two very crappy FPS I bought because they were cheap and a piss poor movie tie-in with very crappy everything. Another game that is close on the worst games list would be Unreal II.

World Series of Poker (PC). It seemed great but it crashes all the time...But it seems to wait until I'm about to win a tournament to do it..... Their (Activision-Value) tech support sucked. They said it was a sound card issue, but my sound card seems fine (well my speakers pop a lot....)...I tried to update the drivers but I don't know how or where to look...All my other games work fine...

so I downloaded the patch that claimed to fix it....but it didn't and it just wasted my time.....

Outlaw Golf was another of the worst games I've ever touched.

The "official" worst game of all time was ET for an old Atari system.

IMO the worst games include:

- Shaq Fu
- Superman 64. Terrible.
- Carmageddon 64. What a way to kill an awesome game
- Dragonball Z Sagas. I usually love DBZ games (namely Budokai games) but this was just crap.

I really disliked Halo 2 and 3, but my overall worst game of all time would have to be Monopoly Tycoon for the PC. I haven't played that many retro games, so that will have to do. I first started gaming with Doom 2 and Alien Trilogy on the PC, followed by Tomb Raider 2. Then I got a PlayStation and went on from there.

EDIT: Oh, and Eye Toy: Play on the PS2 was utter crap.

Yeah, Halo 3 really did suck. Worst game ever. And were you saying that Tomb Raider 2 sucked or just that it was one of the first games you played? I liked Tomb Raider 2. Probably my favorite Adventure game ever. the other ones weren't that great.

E.T. for the Atari 2600.
That's generally agreed to be the worst game of all time, said to have popped the gaming bubble. What I thought was the worst game I had the displeasure of playing was Full Auto for the 360. Now there was a ****-tastic game.

I have never played a game I did not like. Therefor, my "worst game of all time" does not exist.

However...the game I had the least fun with, would probably be Gorasul for the PC. It seemed like a great game...I just couldn't get into it 100%. By no means was it a bad game, however.

My least favorite has to be Superman 64. Is it the worst gameplay wise? No, because some games have so many bugs it is literally impossible to finish them. But it IS the worst when it comes to what I was expecting when it came out. "The first truly 3d and next-gen Superman game? Awesome!" Oh, how naive I was...

Oh yeah I've been there, what a dissapointment to a great series.

Army men Sarge's heroes 2, oh man, number 1 on the dreamcast was good but this one...WTF... Stay away from this game.

Heroes of might and magic quest for the dragon bone staff, oh man again, the grapics are 2d most of the time(and it's on the ps2),and it's the shortest game ever if you can complete it in time, you have 800 days(on easy) and each day is like 10 seconds long WTF?!? Play it yourself if you dare.(i haven't completed it btw, I am too disgusted)

i'd have to vote halo,
sorry to all the halo fans out there but the level design was so boring and repeatative, and there was nothing all that great about the story, the only good thing about the game was the libary level with the non-stop waves of flood attacking you.

My mum plays that. O_O And there is no computer, are you sure you arnt thinking of a different card based game?

And rtranger, you have to admit the codec messages near the end were funny and I think it's a good game, just there's alot of story which people end up skiping.

BahamutBBob
April 30th, 2007, 04:39 PM
It's funny, out of the MGS games, I found MGS3 to be the weakest. Now, if I had gotten Subsistence, I might think differently, but the stamina and cammo systems were annoying...

Dr.Aaron, there is a PC version of Solitaire that (I think) comes standard with Windows.

rtanger
April 30th, 2007, 05:01 PM
The third person camera turns Subsistence into an entirely different game. The way all 3D Metal Gears should have been, IMO.
I never really buggered with the camo all that much, Flecktarn and Brown Squares was like 99% of the game...

The annoying thing to me was the injury thing. Neat concept, but doing nothing but hammering through a few submenus took away any of the interest from the concept.

Not_My_Style
April 30th, 2007, 05:04 PM
I don't see how you can think the MGS series is the worst game(s) you've ever played. Even if you don't like them, you have to agree that they are well put together games. Kind of the same thing with GTA series. Some people hate the concept of the game, but will probably agree that the large map is an amazing feature of the game.

Altontowers

Dirty Harry for the NES...or some other Clint Eastwood inspired video game. Why? I couldn't get it to play. It just kept looping the intro and credits. :(

Why people keep mentioning Halo games for "worst game"? Those games are good byt basic game standards. Bad games are bad for a reason, wherein the goal for completion is never clear, or it's impossible to meet the goal, and when you get it you aren't satisfied. Like playing the Karate Kid for NES.

I can tell you the worst game of all time: My grandad bought it thinking it was a DVD it was actually a PC Game (or at least it claims to be) called Secret Service. It takes ages to install (Bear in mind that Tomb Raider Legend it its 7 or 9 gb glory (I cant remember which) takes a few minutes to install on my PC, Secret Service takes a few hours. Anyway, you load the game up and click new game. It plays some crappy cutscene and then you're in the action. You get told to get out of the car and then you try but WTF? The game crashes. On Every PC. I must have tried it on every PC I have owned in the past 7 years and it has worked on none of them. I've tried it right from Windows 95 to Vista RC1 and it crashes in the same point. And its made by Activision, I'd expect better.

[EDIT] This game is annoying me even more now, I just got it down to look at the manual and it has more weapons that counter strike. Goddamn. Now I actually want to play it.

[EDIT] It now works. You need to be connected to the net by the looks of things, however I have now confirmed that this is infact the worst game of all time. It's like generic shooter 3 only worse.

Can get frustrating.Just because you are bad at gaming doesn't mean the game is bad. :P Bashing Asteroids? FOR SHAME! It's the beloved shooter which started the "shoot lots of things forever" trend in shooters of today. Besides that, it's certainly not bad. Heck, you could even call the music legendary, and on an Atari, that's hard to believe.

Worst game of all time has got to be Steel Harbinger for the PS1.

An Honorable mention goes to any game made by Acclaim (except for Turok) such as AllStar Baseball.

Inspired by another thread:

Postal 2: It's not funny, it plays like someone just shouted 'gameplay' at it at thought that was good enough, and looks like a third-rate mod which was cancelled half way into production.

I'd have more fun flailing the skin from my own fingers.

While I don't think that Splinter Cell was an awful game, I thought it was very clunky in places, with some pretty poor level design. But that's just me.

But if you mess up any section of the training level, you have to restart that particular area.

I know it may not seem like a massive thing to some, but others may find it difficult. Plus, I don't want to sound patronising, but the guy is pretty young, and I know I found games harder back when I was thirteen than I do now.

Yeah, definitely, it's understandable. I don't think the kid is bad (or more accurately, a noob lol) for not being able to get past the first level, but I think he should give the game another chance. It's a very entertaining experience once you get the hang of it.

Yeah, I like it since you have to actually think to win. You don't have a minigun that turns people to bits and pieces. You have a silenced pistol and a noisy assault rifle. You have to sneak rather than fight.

Very well placed points you guys. If I'm playing a game, I want it to be something that I cannot do in my normal life. i.e. Fight aliens with my super fast, super strong, super defensive, super cloaking nanosuit. Or better yet, take me and five of my friends all across Faerun battling hobgoblins and dragons.

Or can I...?

^^^^^Yuko, i did not know they made a God's And Generals game.......lol.

There are so many craptacular sh*tfest, vomit-inducing games, but I hated State Of Emergency the most, then another developer decided that we needed more torture and made a sequel.

My other worst game of all time is Steel Harbinger..........

Honorable mentions: Metal Gear (PS2 only), Ghost Recon 2, Phantasy Star, Wild Arms 4 and 5, Metroid Prime 1 thru 3, Perfect Dark Zero, Ninja Gaiden (all of them), Conan, Legand Of Zelda (from Nintendo 64 to current), The Simpson's movie game, World Class Baseball, Castlevania-64 (also the ps2 ones too), Shrek games, Pirates Of The Caribbean:AWO and pretty much any game made by Acclaim (except for Turok 2 and 3). I know i will get flak for some of these choices, but please don't throw stones, this is just my opinion from my experiences with these games, so live with it.

The one game I remember absolutely hating with a furious passion was Dream TV (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dream_TV) for the SNES (Wikipedia link). Basically the game was finding those puzzle pieces, except for, oh wait, you die in one or two hits and your weapons suck.

Too bad I can't edit the article to say "this game is :pshh: horrible, stay far, far away".

As you can see, it sucks a big, fat cocksickle.Actually, it doesn't look that bad. though that's only one stage, it reminds me a little of SMB in the third level (though SMB is more difficult). Later levels such as "Trip 8" get more complex with moving platforms over a bottomless pit and a level where you can only see with a flashlight. Looks very solid for it's day and age.

...is there something I'm missing?

I present to you the abortion that is Bible Adventures.I didn't play that version of the bible games, but I did happen to play "King of Kings", and the blessed "Spiritual Warfare", which was a bag of awesome in my eyes...too bad I couldn't get the password system to work (or whatever they had). But yes, they all had their flaws, making them downright unplayable at times.
