Bruce Arena will be on ESPN at 6PM EST today to announce the official World Cup Roster. I'm pretty psyched, as well as surprised that ESPN would actually care enough to broadcast the thing live.

Heh...I never knew America had a soccer team..... Soccer is quite boring like hockey, mainly because there are no formal positions really. I mean everyone knows what a Quarterback does, and what they look like, but what the freak is a forward and such as in hockey, basketball and soccer. They all scramble everywhere, and also they are low scoring sports, so it's just back and forth stuff that is really dull.
I liked high school soccer cuz the chicks were hot, but that's about it..Never watched a game, just the highlights on the morning anouncements :P
But....Yeah...Go Brazil? :D

i'd have to say that hockey is more exciting in that there are tons of shots and the puck can go from one side to the other in a matter of milliseconds... though i'm still not a big fan of hockey i can watch it alot easier than i can watch soccer...

I haven't watched hockey in a long time. It's incredibly fast paced, and I always feel lost when I try to watch. I mean the whole time there is never a clear sign of who is winning, unless one team is just scoring goals left and right. Otherwise it feels like a stalemate until someone makes a mistake, and that just gets you down a bit.
Basketball is a bit more tolerable, but I still don't dedicate much time to it. The games can be exciting, but sometimes I feel like I just don't know what's going on, or they're just trading up points back and forth and that also gets dull.

I love playoff hockey. It just gets so darn intense.

I actually had to LOL during the announcement, why? Well because midway during the announcement the damn thing went to commercials, so i missed a good bulk of the players. I didn't know the people at ESPN hated soccer that much.
You guys probably don't like soccer because you got used to the crud the MLS spits out. If you watch stuff like the EPL (English Premiere League) or the J-League (Japanese League Division 1) then you will truly be entertained. International soccer is equally as exciting. At least be sure to give it a chance when it starts on June 9. US vs. Czech Republic (2nd in the world) is on June 12.
Also, some help for Jon.
Forward - Up front, does goal scoring.
Mid-fielder - In the mid-field, does some goal scoring, mainly assists forwards. Also does some defending.
Defender - Rarely scores goal, defends.
