Anyone else think Linkin park has gone the way of the "BS" boys? I used to love some of their older stuff but their new stuff has just gone to crap in my opinion.

I went to their new site and its just......well they've just gone to crap. :wall: :wall:

Well that song Belive Me sounds a lot lighter than their older stuff, but they've still got that hip-hop undertone.

Hopefully this is the only song on the new album with that feel to it. If not, they really HAVE gone to crap. They've been spending wayy too much time with Jay-Z. They gotta get the rock back into their music, and FAST!

Yes they are. The only time I didn't like Linkin Park was there remix CD, but everything else they've done I really like. I know they've been working on there side group Fort Minor which (unless you don't like rap) is really good, especially the song Kinji (very sad tho).

I have always liked Linkin Park since Hybrid Theory. Just so that you know Fort Minor is only Mike but the rest of the band is helping out a lot. My one thing is that they havn't had anything new in a LONG time. Reanimation I wouldn't count as a real CD since it is all remixes and that thing with Jay-Z doesn't count either. Their site says that they are in the proccess of making their new CD but it has been saying that for a long time. I just hope that they come out with something good and actually new really soon.

I've liked Linkin Park for a long time, I wish they would come out with something new though. Fort Minor is really good, and Kenji is probably the best rap song I've heard in a while.

I was never a huge fan...nothing against them. That was until I saw them live at Clemson U. (South Carolina). Put on a real damn good show. I've got respect for those guys. It's easy to say they are selling out or are not what they used to be. Commercialization has that effect on peoples' opinions. Still think they are a great mix of heavy stuff with some good emotional influence and suprisingly deep hip-hop roots. If you like the rap side of Shinoda (2nd lead man)...check out a group called Fort Minor. Shinoda's little side project that actually has some real depth to it.

*EDIT Need to start reading all the way through the thread...see air raid mentioned FM...Kenji is a damn good track though man

If your looking at popularity and trend wise then punk genre would be equivalent to the boy band genre.

Green Day- Yeah, American Idiot was an alright cd, but it's by no means a musical masterpiece

Blink 182

A Simple Plan

etc.

Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory to me was the first and the last of their really good albums. Its just that their style of singing gets old very quickly.

Well you see... I like Fleetwood Mac so... I don't know what this has to do with anything but chances are if you like Fleetwood Mac, you aren't going to like Linkin Park.

Hybrid Theory was what got me listening. "Crawling" to be exact. But then along came Meteora and that wasn as good. Then Re-Animation I didn't like because there was nothing new. Now they havn't done anything new for a really long time so this next CD better be good.

I believe that would end in a Steve Miller Band song.

Rick Rubin is producing Linkin Park's new album which is due out later this year. Rubin is one of the best producers in the industry, so it all comes down to the band...

Fort Minor would be worth checking out then. Dissapointed in the lack of Courtney Love comment in here. I thought I was onto a Theme with Steve. Damn!

I am a big fan of the Rock/Metal and Rap crossover/collaberation. When you stick the right 2 acts together from those genres you get some sweet tunes, for example Trip Like I Do with Filter and The Crystal Method. Linkin Park to me is really just that all in one band, no collaberation necessary.. just add water!

Just listened to his new song....it was terrible. Oh well, it is just one song, he has the rest of the album to make up for it.

Yep, Rob Zombie's stuff really sucks now. Apparantly back when he and his band were White Zombie they were really good. I wouldn't really know, I only liked like three of his songs, and they're all "Rob Zombie" songs from like 01/02.

His best song would be 'More Human than Human'
Which is a White Zombie one.
