According to multiple movie sites around the web Castlevania has been announced with Paul W.S. Anderson directing. There's also going to be a third, and final, Resident evil movie. Resident evil: Afterlife seems to be the name everyone is using.

Just thought I'd let everyone know. Not sure how old this news is but there you have it.

*Note* There's also going to be a Farcry movie, spyhunter movie, hitman (with vin diesel), and halo movie.
The good news is that Uwe Boll is only directing HALF of the game to movie films. :wall::wall::wall::wall:

I could tell (sadly) that there would be a third RE movie after watching the end of the second. It leaves it open for a sequel.

if you would like to see a list of games that are either already in the works, or have the best chance at going to the big screen i can recommend going HERE (http://movies.hsx.com/servlet/SecurityDetail?symbol=GAMER). Its an Hollywood Stock Exchange game page (its technically a "fund" that "invests" proprietary game money in game to movie projects) if you go down a bit, there is a list of movies that are somewhat abbreviated (which most people could probably figure out on their own...), if you mouse over the links you can usually get the full name in the bottom status bar if IE, or you can click on the link to find out a little bit more information, not an incredible amount of information really but its still a pretty decent list. It also isn't a complete list as it doesn't have the farcry movie in there... but its still some interesting information. DO NOT regard this information as FACT, some of it is for the purpose of the game and game only.

EDIT: They also place movies that are having games made based on them... so thats why you see things like spiderman and curious george in the list...

Should i bother seeing the second one then? or is it all explained?

a Castlevania movie shouldn't be too hard. All you need to do is have a vampire named Dracula (or the spirit of dracula), vampire hunters, and countless undead creautres. From there, you can do whatever they heck you want with the plot, as the idea of continuity in Castlevania games is rather slim and confusing.

The second one is kinda crappy. All that happens (if i remember correctly) is that Nemesis turns... good??? which was kinda stupid. And then racoon city gets blown up. Hurray for stupid movies.

Jason Statham would have been a better Hitman.

i'm not sure... he's... uh... well... a little TOO white... but there are better choices than diesel, however, diesel's essentialy bankrolling the thing so i guess he can do whatever he wants... (though that last part might be wrong...)

Saw it for myself, and have to say that's really what happened...compiled at least. I even wasted my time and bothered to see the featurettes on the movie, and kept hearing how they used footage from the video games to make some scenes. was that really the case? didn't play them myself. could never get far in the games, as i ran out of ammo/typewriter ink (worst saving method ever).
