I think their future will be bland remakes of the other, applying barely any new features to already made features. They'll make new features that no one needs nor cares about but sounds flashy and will still pay 60 dollars for the game.

I say, just buy a game, update every two years. I mean, it really is the same players, just traded to different teams the next year.

Sports games have never been my favorite genre. But as for where they will go. I think the street series has used sports final big idea. I love the series but it is the biggest change since madden started and in my opinion will stay the biggest change till a brand new sport sweeps through the world with force.

I see this the Most with EA's Madden and NBA Live series. Since about the year 2000, every annual release is just like a rehashed version of the pervious one.

Pretty much the same with a few new plays, but no one ever uses new ones, because they all are used to the old ones. All the have to do is patch the game once a year with the new team rosters, and update the graphics every 2 years. Other than that, making a new game that has models with 100 more polygons every year is a waste of money, yet people still buy the new one every year and are duped by the company that it's "completely new and revised and special."

That is exactly what I meant. And I see it only progressing with that. Maybe some new concepts now that the new consoles are coming and they have new abilities, but nothing spectacular.

EA has done spectacularly well with it's sports range *sarcastic cough*

Wonder how far they can stretch it?

Well what I keep hearing is that Madden has a 5 year deal to be the only PRO football game out there, not 100% but I haven't seen any pro football games besides theirs. I have seen several college games though.:P

Graphics are going to be amazing (un-freakin-belivable for wrestling games in particular) and gameplay should undergo some major changes. With multi-core processors and all that stuff in the 360 and the PS3, expect far more complex plays and strategies to be used by the AI.

Other than that, gameplay will probably stay about the same. I absolutely can't wait to see how things play out... for most games the general consensus is that 2k Games have better gamplay, but the EA Sports games have better graphics and more polish. I'd like to see how next-gen will change that.
