Cryptids are creatures presumed extinct, hypothetical species, or creatures known from anecdotal evidence and/or other evidence insufficient to prove their existence with scientific certainty.

Do you believe in Cryptids? The creatures that seem to have appeared from time to time across the Earth, disappearing as quickly as they have left... Some have stopped appearing completely, like the Kraken. Others have been found as older creatures that went completely extinct. Some are hoaxes, and others are unconfirmed to exist. There are still many sightings of such creatures today: The Loch Ness Monster, Champ (Lake Champlain Monster), Bigfoot (Yeti, Sasquatch) etc. Some have been confirmed to be actual creatures, albeit exaggerated, like the Giant or Colossal Squids. Often these creatures are quite large, like the aformented Kraken.
One disturbing fact is that in 1997, a large, ultra-low frequency "Bloop" was located in the Atlantic Ocean. It matches the profile of an animal, but it would have to be larger than any known species of whale, and it would not have been created by any known species of cephalopod, as they lack the air sack to create such a noise.
I personally believe that many of the older legends, such as Champ (Which was first sighted by Samuel De Champlain in the 17th century, with sightings continuing after that from numerous sources) and the Kraken (A creature in Norse mythology which had been known to prey on ships in the seas around Norway and Iceland) may actually exist, or have existed at one point or another. Such coordinated accounts of monsters by different sources may have indicated such creatures actually existing.
Your thoughts?
