This is a big rumour thats going around. Sony will be naming the ps3 the ps4. This comes REAL close to fact but it will remain here until its been announced. Think about it. xbox (3)60 vs ps3................. delay it till early 07 (which is fact) and rename it the p4. ps4> 360. It adds up and i bet that it will happen.

yes i can definately see sony fighting fire with fire... i mean xbox never made xbox 2 so they went to 360 to sound less inferior to a ps3... and i definately think sony will do just the same to them and delay the rease date and i bet you its a success and once again sony will sell alot more ^_^

If Sony does delay, they'll have a much more powerful system by '07. With all the new tech already out by then. If in fact this is true, Microsoft beware!

I dont know. There will be game developers making 360 games for a little over a year longer than the ps2 (4). It will be interesting to see what happens.

Yeah, you're right about that. They'll have to get used to the ps4 and learn to use it to its full functionality. Then again, they do already have beta kits for it, so they got plenty time to perfect the system. Two years actually!

well ive always been a sony fan and all i kan say is i know that sony never fails to impress!

im looking forawrd to see what actually gets released and ill be a guaranteed customer...

i also hear that the ps3(4) is going to be made for ultimate media, and computing purposes, as the designer stated that he did not make it for gaming and that its just one small part of it... i forgot where i read it but i did read that and so i cant wait

Yeah, I agree, this is all a competiton. Originally, XBox2 changed it's name because when it was compared to the Playstartion THREE, it sounded obsolete. So they became the 360. I guess Playstation now thinks that their name is obsolete, so they're going up to four.

I just dont think its likely since they said they were going to come out with a PS3, they've got the thing damn near built, if not built already. I think its no more than a rumor, I think the PS3 will come out... and the PS4 will be next in the lineup. Sure its a "valid" rumor, but I just dont see it happening.

I really don’t care if it is true. I just think the names PS4 and X-box 360 are stupid and I always have. X-box 360 can not be the best name they could come up with, I mean come one the name pretty much says they are reverting back to the beginning of gaming, or they have decided not to change anything after year of development so they went back to the original X-box. And the PS4 when it is actually the 3rd system is just dumb. Unless that system is light years ahead of the X-box or the PS2 naming it PS4 is just a waste of time. I am expecting big things from both products but if they fail to impress me then there company should just pull out of the console races. What ever happened to Nintendo btw???

Nintendo is working on Nintendo Revolution, though that's supposed to be released last of the new consoles, and not much information about it has been released.

According to rumours though, it will be able to play any Nintendo game ever released.

Well the revolution will "allow you to download ANY nintendo game ever made,including gameboy titles." We will see I suppose :P

it sounds like an interesting idea, but how would it work out? would you be able to buy each game by Nintendo ever made and play it via the system? or would it be like one freaking enormous package (haha), or what? I mean, the "buy-and-play" sounds like it would make sense, at least for nintendo.

Microsoft already has its idea to keep people from buying PS3... or PS4 w/e... Release of Halo 3 the same day PS3/4 is released.

Unless halo 3 improves ALOT on halo 2 then I wont buy it. Halo 2 sucked when put up against the original halo. Multiplayer that is.

Yet they only compare it to the original. I mean, I'm not a huge fan of HALO 2, but really, HALO 2 put up against a lot of other shooters still is a lot better than most of them...

Well with metal gear solid 4 coming out for both the ps3 and xbox360 as well as the final fantasy franchise coming to the xbox....out side of a few other titles whats the huge pull to get the ps3/4(whichever they go with)?

The only way sony's console will do better than the xbox is if its hardware is over 5 times that of the 360. Now they say its something like that but they also have delayed it till late 06 early 07...Its too early to tell but its going to be interesting to see what happens.
