The recently released “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith” DVD and video game “Star Wars: Battlefront 2” have kicked some serious Empire butt in their combined first week sales figures. The dynamic duo raked in approximately $210 million. The game and DVD movie made their debut in stores around the world in the United States, the U.K. Latin America, Germany, Australia and Canada. The rest of the world will get its copies starting November 23rd.
Jim Ward, vice president of Lucasfilm (movies) and president of LucasArts (video games) said, "The phenomenal sales underscore the enduring strength of the series. In many territories, DVD and game sales were nearly double what we initially expected. Consumers are clearly eager to experience the movie again in pristine DVD quality and to immerse themselves in the Star Wars universe by playing `Star Wars Battlefront II.'"
With good news like this, even Darth Vader has reason to smile behind his mask.
