VERY GOOD MOVIE.
If you liked the first one you'll love this one. The character development isn't as hardcore but it makes sense given the situation. It really pulls the whole thing together at the end. You'll see what I mean.
SEEEEE ITTTTT.

Too many Characters....the movie had that "OUCH" Factor. You know when someone cuts their foot off you cringe...well this movie has alot of that, not cutting off a foot but the cringe factor. As for the "Twist" I knew it was coming the whole time....which ruined it. No one told me...it was just THAT obvious. Its also one of those movies where the ending isnt 100% happy. You'll see. I suggest you wait and just catch it on tv or rent it...not really Theatre worthy in my opinion. Go see DOOM or Jarhead.... Im still waiting on Sin City 2!

Overall I thought that Saw II was a pretty solid sequel. They improved on some of the elements that hurt the first movie a lot, mainly the acting and they picked up the pace quite a bit. I do agree that there was no character development and it did drag the movie down, but it was still worth checking out at the theater.

number one rule of movies... sequels usually suck. Oh and some movies that are the second in a series aren't necassarily sequels. They are just extra movies cuz they couldn't fit it all in one movie. Such as... Lord of the Rings. But for example... Jurassic Park 2, pretty bad sequel.

on another note with sequels... most actually do better at the box office than the original... (its already got an installed fan base that is interested because of the first movie...)
on saw 2 i felt it was decent but lots of things were incredibly obvious... and character development gets harder and harder when you add more and more characters... the first saw, one was able to kind of connect with the characters more and their situation
beyond that it was a little bit harder to believe (i'm trying to be vague here for those who haven't seen it... which probably isn't too terribly many but still...)
