View Full Version : Weird Morning - Life Choices

You know how things in the morning can turn the rest of the day into trash? Well, today almost did. I was taking a street I don't normally take while going to do some work, and lo and behold, I try to merge into a lane and the guy cuts me off. He doesn't leave it there, he blocks me from merging behind him too. I wait till he moves ahead, and I can see him screaming and ranting in front of me. So I decide to step out of my car and go up to his window. He sees me approaching and doesn't know what is going on.

At this point in time, I have a choice. I can get in his face and possibly get one of us seriously injured. A strange thought comes into my mind, "Why not apologize and see what happens. He definitely won't be expecting that."

I do the later. I say, "Hey bud, I guess I almost ran into you. Sorry guy. I apologize." The guy tries to get fired up, but can't. He says, "I thought you were drunk or something." I laugh and say, "What? This early?" I say goodbye and smile as I walk away. No doubt, the rest of the traffic was waiting for some action, but they can't figure out why I'm smiling as I walk away from the truck.

The guy in the truck and I continue down the twisting street a few hundred yards until he takes a left and I continue down to the right. Somewhere in this story is something that says something about life. I'm still trying to figure it out.

At first I thought it may have been a dumb no-point-to-this type of story, but I have to admit I've been thinking along the same lines as of recently, and just finished writing a paper on the importance of our choices, small or large.

The right attitude and some patience can go along way, if you're not in the mood to fight that is, lol.

Good post.

Every so often, between my video games and life stuff, I get down to business and think about things like...choices, purpose, the big "Why". But then, I pick up "Killzone", and the thougts go away. But seriously, these sort of questions have always hounded me since I was five. Luckily for me, video games help to balance this all out.

I woulda yelled at the douche. He cuts you off then he's mad at you??? Idiot drivers... 1/2 of the idiots out there shouldn't even have a liscence. I hate the idiots that drive down residential streets at 50 mph blaring their bass. I also hate tailgaters. Tailgaters piss me off so badly. Get off my ass or we're gonna crash!

Frank, hate to break it to you, but that was me in traffic. I'm sorry.

No, it wasn't, but I like the idea that it could have been.

I kinda doubt it woulda gotten to that point. Angry drivers are usually bad drivers. If someone cuts you off, the world still spins.

Can't wait until I'm old enough to drive, I'll be the angriest driver ever. But I'll carry my nunchakus with me so I'll be fine.

People talk big, but then they usually don't act. If you were that angry of a person where something as stupid as getting cut off by another driver would make you violently attack somebody, you would be in jail right now probably for murdering or assaulting someone.
