i'm surprised one hasn't been started yet. Please tell me there's some F1 fans around here!!!
This season is shaping up to be pretty exciting. I can't remember the last time there have been three different winners in the first three races of a season.
Kudos has to go to McLaren, for really closing the gap against Ferarri after a pretty rough season last year. The Renault's look like they've lost their edge against their competitors, and without Fernando Alonso it looks like they're going to fall back to a tier 2 team.
...and what's the deal with rookie driver Lewis Hamilton? Sure he's got a great car, but even so... he's had the edge thus far on his teammate - a 2 time F1 champion!!

I thought I was the only F1 fan here, I've posted some threads about it, but to little reply.
You're right though, this season looks to be a great one. I can't remember the last time where anyone one of 4 drivers could easily walk away as champion. I really hope Kimi pulls through though (even though I'm English, I've always been a fan of Kimi), he deserves it more than the other 3 he is competing with in my opinion - having being so close to it so many times only to be let down by the car under him.
Further down the field the BMW's of Heidfeld and Kubica, look like really strong cars, and could even walk away with a victory, regardless of any misfortune of the Ferrari's and Maclaren's (they really have a great package, and seem to be able to compete with them). Red Bull just need to work on that reliability, because as Coulthard showed, they have a quick car too, capable of scoring points. In regards to Renault, my thoughts on them have been confirmed, that being that most of their ability to compete came almost solely from the will to win of Alonso. Fisi, just isn't up to the task, and they're going to slip further down the field, unless they sort something out quickly.
Also on the Hamilton thing, I know he is new to F1, but it's not like he's new to racing. He was picked up by Maclaren over 10 years ago, and nurtured to where he is now. He proved without doubt that he was the cream of the field in GP2, it's only right that, given the car he is driving and the guidance from his team and Alonso, he should be able to perform.
Already I can't wait to the next round in Spain, just under 4 weeks away, then Monaco 2 weeks later.

I'm not an F1 fan, but I do realize that F1 is one of the most difficult, grueling sports there is to play (if you can call it playing). All in all I'm not a big racing fan so that pretty much tells it all. I find it funny that people don't consider F1 or NASCAR sports. They are both very difficult physically demanding forms of competition.

I don't really follow the F1s, because it's on TV at like 1am down under. I do follow the Aussie V8 Supercars though so if anyone else does it would be good to have a chat about it =]
Perhaps this thread should be changed to be a general Motorsport thread, so that people can talk about F1, NASCAR, V8Supercars and whatever else they want to?
